Bible verses for burnout

Burnout is not solved by being told to rest by someone who then asks for more. What makes the passages below useful is who is speaking in them.
Rest appears here as an instruction rather than a reward for finishing, which is the opposite of how most of us hold it.
If the exhaustion has gone past tiredness into not caring, or into dread on a Sunday evening, that is worth telling someone about rather than reading about. These passages are company, not treatment.

Mark 6 : 31

Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while
Said to people too busy to eat, by someone who could have asked them for more and did not. Rest is given as a command, not a concession.

Exodus 33 : 14

And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
Presence first, rest second, and in that order. The rest offered is a consequence of not being alone with the work rather than of the work ending.

1 Kings 19 : 7

And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.
Elijah, having asked to die, is not rebuked or counselled. He is fed and allowed to sleep, twice, before anyone speaks to him about what comes next.

Isaiah 40 : 29

He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Addressed to those with no might at all, not to the merely tired. Burnout usually arrives after the point where effort stopped working.

Psalm 127 : 2

It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
A direct verdict on the early starts and late nights: vain. The sentence that follows is about sleep being given rather than earned.
